'Too Folk for the Country crowd and too Country for the Folkies!' The Music of Kate Wolf

It is an absolute travesty that Kate Wolf is not better known or recognised in the UK for the talent that she was… EPIC songwriting that really should be talked about and up there with the likes of Townes Van Zandt or Gram Parsons...

Her life story was also equally as tragic as the aforementioned boys own favourites if not more so in fact albeit in a different context having died at the age of only 44 following a long and harrowing battle with Leukemia…

As well as an exceptional songwriter Kate was a family woman, bar singer, Country Music DJ and music festival programmer.

'Oklahoma Going Home' is taken from her debut LP 'Back Roads' by Kate Wolf & The Wildwood Flower which was pretty much recorded live with little or no overdubs over five days in front of an open fire in a cabin on the North Coast of Sonomo County, California in 1976

Kate released six fine albums whilst she was alive with numerous albums released posthumously.
